About the Role

We're looking for a Contract Customer Service Representative to engage with blithequark members, helping them find the right healthcare for their needs, understand how our program works, and assist them in getting their eligible claims paid. As a member of our team, you'll focus on providing exceptional support via phone, chat, and email. Our member services team acts as the voice of blithequark, so we're seeking someone passionate about helping people and proactive in solving problems. In this role, you'll become an expert on blithequark's product, operations, and the needs of our members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver amazing service to our members via phone, chat, and email, offering education and guidance to help them understand and utilize their benefit and find the right provider for their needs
  • Follow documented best practices for handling member inquiries and suggest process improvements as you identify them
  • Manage and organize your workload using blithequark's platform and tools, including Zendesk and G Suite
  • Triage and escalate complex and urgent member care needs
  • Retain detail-oriented working knowledge of employer health benefits and insurance
  • Relay member feedback to leadership teams to improve blithequark's solution

Candidate Profile

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A passion for helping people solve their problems with the ability to think creatively and empathetically
  • Experience working in a customer-facing environment with demonstrated experience staying calm under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A high level of process-orientation, digital organization, and resourcefulness
  • A desire to work in a rapidly evolving startup environment and be comfortable with some ambiguity
  • A desire to be part of our mission to improve the healthcare system
  • Enthusiasm for a role with room for growth
  • A quiet and distraction-free work environment with a reliable internet connection (ability to hardwire if needed is strongly preferred)
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required

Essential Qualifications

In addition to the above, you should:

  • Be able to work a scheduled 8-hour shift between our operating hours of 8a-8p Eastern Time
  • Have a strong understanding of customer service principles and practices
  • Be proficient in using digital tools and platforms to manage your workload

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Previous experience working in the healthcare industry or a related field
  • Knowledge of health insurance and employer health benefits
  • Experience with Zendesk and G Suite or similar platforms
