The Director of Business Development is a senior leadership position responsible for the end-to-end ownership of the customer acquisition strategy, focusing on strategic planning and execution to drive measurable pipeline growth.

Responsibilities

  • Acquisition Strategy & Execution: Define ideal client profiles (ICPs), target environments, and high-conversion messaging. Develop and manage 30/60/90-day plans to achieve pipeline and revenue targets
  • Channel Testing & Scaling: Identify and validate profitable acquisition channels, which might include paid search, SEO, outbound, and strategic partnerships, based on viability. Implement rapid testing cycles to optimize budget allocation and scale high-performing channels
  • Funnel Optimization: Analyze the sales funnel to identify and mitigate drop-off points. Optimize landing pages, lead nurture sequences, and sales scripts to maximize conversion rates from lead to close
  • Sales & Marketing Alignment: Streamline the transition from lead generation to sales execution, ensuring that sales efforts are focused exclusively on highly qualified prospects

Skills

  • Senior leadership experience in business development or a related field
  • Proven track record of developing and executing customer acquisition strategies
  • Experience in defining ideal client profiles (ICPs) and high-conversion messaging
  • Ability to develop and manage 30/60/90-day plans to achieve pipeline and revenue targets
  • Experience in identifying and validating profitable acquisition channels
  • Knowledge of paid search, SEO, outbound marketing, and strategic partnerships
  • Experience in implementing rapid testing cycles to optimize budget allocation
  • Ability to analyze sales funnels and identify drop-off points
  • Experience in optimizing landing pages, lead nurture sequences, and sales scripts
  • Strong alignment skills between sales and marketing teams
