Job Summary

As a Medical Customer Service Representative, you will play a critical role in supporting our members nationwide by addressing their inquiries and delivering comprehensive information about their membership. This role requires exceptional customer service skills, strong verbal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Answer incoming calls professionally, accurately, timely, and courteously

  • Determine the nature of calls and log information in the Communication Log
  • Access member information using proprietary systems to assist callers
  • Forward inquiries requiring further research to the appropriate department
  • Transfer calls to specialized queues for complex issues (e.g., claims, authorizations)
  • Utilize available resources to provide timely responses
  • Manage time effectively to ensure calls are answered promptly, and follow-ups are completed in a timely manner
  • Meet or exceed minimum key job accountabilities for the Customer Service Representative role
  • Document all calls appropriately
  • Attend weekly staff meetings to discuss issues and promote teamwork
  • Respond to requests from internal and external customers as needed

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience; inbound call center experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a healthcare setting or with healthcare-related organizations

  • Familiarity with proprietary systems and software
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
