What You'll Do

As a Full-time Remote Customer Sales Associate, you will be responsible for:

• Providing exceptional customer service, ensuring that every guest has a memorable experience
• Demonstrating a keen awareness of animal handling and welfare, adhering to best practices at all times
• Performing cashiering duties, balancing the cash register, and managing stock and prices
• Executing tasks that aid in achieving the store's assigned sales goal
• Properly managing the stock and prices of goods, ensuring smooth store operations
• Heeding established operational guidelines and store regulations, ensuring adherence to designated procedures
• Evaluating guest inquiries and referring them to the appropriate staff member
• Conducting hourly animal health checks and recording their wellness
• Interacting with professional contacts via verbal and written communication, with an emphasis on the company's interests
• Providing helpful and friendly customer service, identifying specific needs and offering product recommendations
• Employing suggestive selling techniques to boost individual sales
• Securing an outstanding customer experience for all Omni-channel endeavors
• Performing routine tasks, such as balancing the cash register, stocking and facing merchandise, and assisting customers with carry-out service
• Abiding by loss prevention regulations and supporting inventory management
• Maintaining the health and well-being of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish in the store
• Executing routine housekeeping tasks to preserve the store's professional and well-maintained appearance
• Assisting store management in efficiently and accurately completing all necessary paperwork
• Engaging in quarterly and annual physical inventory audits
• Devoting attention to safety procedures, implementing and enforcing regulations and policies to ensure a clean and healthy environment
• Executing assigned special projects as directed by the team leader

Key Accountabilities

• Live animals' health and happiness are ensured by providing them proper care based on established standards, guidelines, and policies
• Skillfully interacts with professional contacts via verbal and written communication, with an emphasis on the company's interests
• Provides helpful and friendly customer service to guests, identifying specific needs and offering product recommendations
• To excel in this role, one must have an extensive understanding of nutrition, a strong grasp on Pals Rewards membership sign-up, an in-depth knowledge of the Welcome to the Family program, and proficiency in effective sales tactics

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

• 1-2 years of experience in retail sales, customer service, or a related field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for prolonged periods
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
