Key Responsibilities

As a Temporary Customer Service Associate at blithequark, you will be responsible for:

  • Modeling and delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including greeting customers, offering assistance, and resolving issues in a fair, friendly, and efficient manner.
  • Registering sales on assigned cash register, providing customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
  • Engaging customers and patients by offering assistance with products and services, resolving customer issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Recommending items for sale to customers and recommending trade-up and/or companion items.
  • Registering customer purchases on assigned cash register, collecting cash and distributing change as requested; processing voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed.
  • Keeping counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, taking inventory, and maintaining records.
  • Implementing Company asset protection procedures to identify and minimize profit loss.
  • Ensuring compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco products).
  • Constructing and maintaining displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise.
  • Assisting with separation of food items (e.g., raw foods from pre-cooked) and product placement as specified by policies/procedures.
  • Providing customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, poster print and creative machine, suggestive sell of promotional photo products.
  • Assisting with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance.
  • Complying with all company policies and procedures; maintaining respectful relationships with coworkers.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful as a Temporary Customer Service Associate at blithequark, you will need:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with customers, patients, and colleagues in a friendly, courteous, and efficient manner.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to resolve customer issues and concerns in a fair and efficient manner.
  • Basic math skills, with the ability to handle cash and operate a cash register.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications would be an asset:

  • Previous customer service experience, preferably in a retail or healthcare environment.
  • Basic knowledge of store systems and store equipment.
  • Experience with digital passport photo service, poster print and creative machine, and suggestive sell of promotional photo products.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
