Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Data Scientist to join our team in New York, USA. As a Data Scientist at blithequark, you will be responsible for creating and implementing AI and factual displaying strategies to understand and predict subscriber behavior, including churn, upgrade/downgrade, cost responsiveness, customer segmentation, and retention analysis. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and explore new business opportunities and drive trial and error to assess the effects of your models.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the streaming business with AI and factual displaying focused on understanding and predicting subscriber behavior, including churn, upgrade/downgrade, cost responsiveness, customer segmentation, retention analysis, trial plan and analysis, and causal inference.
- Create and implement innovative AI strategies to address key business questions while identifying new areas to explore.
- Drive trial and error to assess the effects of your models.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across the organization to identify and explore new business opportunities.
- Present your proposals to senior leaders.
- Work with other data groups to improve platform capabilities around data modeling, data representation, trial and error, and data design.
Essential Capabilities
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Physics, Econometrics, or Statistics.
- 3+ years of experience designing, building, and assessing reasonable AI solutions.
- Strong coding experience in (at least one) data programming languages like Python/R, with additional experience in scientific libraries like Numpy, Pandas, or similar libraries.
- Proficient in analyzing data and creating ML models using Python (with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, scikit-learn, etc.).
- Strong foundation in statistical modeling: regression, clustering, time series estimation, causal inference, and other methods.
- Experience creating flexible numerical models and solving complex quantitative problems that can be understood by non-technical colleagues.
- Ability to make insights and recommendations from data to inform model development and business decisions.
- Willingness to collaborate with other data researchers, data analysts, and key colleagues.
- Strong understanding of SQL.
Preferred Capabilities
* Postgraduate education in a quantitative field.
- Excellent analytical skills, high-level degree of statistical knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability in choosing the right statistical tools given a data analysis problem.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a high-speed environment with changing needs.
- Strong relational skills, for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Experience with data platforms and applications like Databricks, Jupyter, Snowflake, Wind current, Github.
- Experience with planning and analyzing A/B testing and other trial types.
- Experience thinking decisively to interpret market and customer data, ideally about a subscription service.
- Experience with distributed data technologies (Hive, Flash).
- Experience with NLP and NN models.
