Job Summary

As a Paraeducator, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualized instruction and support to students with special needs. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing instructional support to students with special needs, including those with autism, physical disabilities, and learning disabilities
  • Assisting teachers with lesson planning, implementation, and assessment
  • Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
  • Providing behavioral support and interventions to students with challenging behaviors
  • Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports on student progress and behavior

Key Responsibilities

* Provide instructional support to students with special needs, including those with autism, physical disabilities, and learning disabilities

  • Assist teachers with lesson planning, implementation, and assessment
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
  • Provide behavioral support and interventions to students with challenging behaviors
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other support staff to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Associate's degree or higher in a related field (e.g., special education, education, or a related field) preferred
  • 2+ years of experience working with students with special needs, preferably in a public school setting
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including students, parents, and staff
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., special education, education, or a related field)

  • Experience working with students with autism, physical disabilities, and learning disabilities
  • Knowledge of behavioral interventions and strategies
  • Experience with individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills (e.g., Spanish, English, or other languages)
