We are seeking an experienced Finishing Lead to join our team at the Converting Plant in Grand Prairie, TX. As a Finishing Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of operators in the Finishing Department, ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for training and developing the skills of your team members, as well as supporting the plant's food safety and HIRARC teams' initiatives. As a Finishing Lead, your key responsibilities will include:- Assisting with training activities for the Finishing Department, including developing BDPs (Business Development Plans) for safety, quality, and waste.
- Working with associates to develop BDPs for safety, quality, and waste.
- Supporting the plant's food safety and HIRARC teams' initiatives.
- Assisting with Shift Meetings to ensure that production runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Ensuring your own safety while operating the machine and that of those assisting with operations.
- Filling in as needed in the Finishing Department.
- Managing the duties of an operator, including but not limited to:
- Preparing master rolls for slitting.
- Placing rolls in the machine and preparing for splicing.
- Properly segregating and labeling all materials (as appropriate) – for work-in process, rewinds, trash, and hold.
- Assisting in removing rolls from rewind (as necessary).
- Removing and weighing startup rolls/materials at the beginning of a job.
- Performing daily housekeeping duties to keep the area clean and organized during setup, run, and end of shift.
- Removing and weighing all waste.
- Properly storing all unused equipment.
