We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Mid-Level Transportation Design Engineer to join our team of experts in delivering cutting-edge transportation solutions. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing transportation infrastructure projects that enhance mobility, safety, and sustainability in urban and suburban environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and review comprehensive transportation design plans, including roadways, intersections, and traffic control systems
• Utilize advanced CAD and Open Roads software to create detailed engineering drawings and models
• Conduct capacity analyses and traffic simulations to evaluate proposed transportation improvements and optimize traffic flow patterns
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate transportation designs with other infrastructure projects and ensure seamless execution
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations and standards, and stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices
• Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and project documentation to facilitate effective communication with clients and stakeholders
• Contribute to the development of sustainable transportation solutions that address environmental concerns and promote eco-friendly practices
• Participate in client meetings and public presentations to communicate project details, gather feedback, and build strong relationships with clients and communities

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field, with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe
• Proven experience in designing highway/roadway systems, with expertise in MicroStation, GEOPAK, and/or OpenRoads design software
• Strong knowledge of local Illinois and Chicago Department of Transportation regulations and standards
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
