Job Overview

We are looking for a Virtual Special Education Teacher to work with students with varying disabilities during the 2024/2025 school year. As a 1099 contract employee, you will be responsible for developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), assessing student progress, and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, administrators, and other professionals.
• Use assessment tools and strategies to evaluate student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement and motivation.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and specialists to ensure effective inclusion and accommodations.
• Employ diverse teaching techniques to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
• Monitor and document student progress, behaviors, and achievements while maintaining accurate records.
• Engage with parents and guardians to foster communication and involve them in their child's educational journey.
• Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and other school-related activities as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Teaching/Special Education.
• Valid Special Education Teaching Certification in North Carolina.
• Previous experience with students with special needs preferred.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in special education.
• Experience with virtual learning is a plus.
