About the position At Northrop Grumman, we are seeking a Principal or Senior Principal Program Planning Analyst/Scheduler to join our Scheduling Center of Excellence. This role is pivotal in supporting the Mission Systems (MS) Sector, where you will be responsible for coordinating with engineering and operations teams to develop and maintain the program's schedule baseline. The ideal candidate will thrive in a team environment, collaborating with program management, technical, production, financial, and other supporting staff to ensure effective program execution. As a Planner/Scheduler, you will apply your knowledge of product development planning to establish and control the program schedule baseline. You will work closely with a multifunctional team to update status for management decision-making on complex development and production programs. Utilizing project scheduling software, you will plan and gauge progress against the plan, identifying performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas. Your role will also involve performing thorough project analysis through metrics reviews and predictive analysis to enhance cost, schedule, and technical performance. Additionally, you will conduct schedule risk analyses and collaborate with the program manager to resolve any critical path issues or network logic conflicts. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with engineering and operations teams to develop the program's schedule baseline.

  • Apply knowledge of product development planning to establish and control the program schedule baseline.

  • Develop an integrated program measurement baseline to manage cost, schedule, and technical performance of the program.

  • Use project scheduling software to plan and gauge progress against the plan, identifying performance variances.

  • Perform thorough project analysis through metrics reviews and predictive analysis to enhance cost, schedule, and technical performance.

  • Conduct schedule risk analyses and work with the program manager to resolve risky schedules and critical path issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 6 years of professional related experience or a master's degree with 4 years of professional related experience for Principal role.

  • 10 years of applied experience in lieu of degree requirement for Principal role.

,

  • 4 years of project scheduling experience using Microsoft Project, Oracle P6, Deltek Open Plan, or other related scheduling tools.

,

  • Experience using MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

,

  • US Citizenship is required for both Principal and Senior Principal roles.

,

  • Bachelor's degree with 10 years of related professional experience or a master's degree with 8 years of related professional experience for Senior Principal role.

  • 14 years of applied experience in lieu of degree requirement for Senior Principal role.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Management, Industrial Engineering, Finance, Operations Management, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Experience with Schedule Analytics and Schedule Risk Assessment tools.
