Systems Architecture, DevOps, and Infrastructure Oversight Contractor (ZR_23243_

This is a remote position.

We are seeking a highly experienced Systems Architecture, DevOps, and Infrastructure Oversight Contractorto lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the infrastructure and technical operations that power our core systems. This role will be instrumental in maintaining platform reliability, driving DevOps excellence, and aligning our systems architecture with product and technical goals.

You will be the senior technical authority across infrastructure, DevOps practices, and system architecture—providing hands-on support, strategic direction, and implementation expertise to ensure a stable, secure, and scalable environment for development and production operations.

Key Responsibilities

• CI/CD Management:Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for staging and production environments.

• Cloud Infrastructure Oversight:Manage and optimize our AWS infrastructure, focusing on scalability, load balancing, performance, cost efficiency, and security.

• Monitoring & Observability:Maintain and improve monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., UptimeRobot, Sentry, SonarQube) to ensure system health and fast incident response.

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC):Implement and manage infrastructure through code using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.

• Access & Secrets Management:Enforce role-based access control and secure secrets management protocols.

• Architectural Strategy:Advise on systems architecture, including hosting strategies, service decomposition, and data flow design.

• Legacy System Refactoring:Review and recommend improvements to existing systems to optimize performance and maintainability.

• Incident Response:Lead troubleshooting and resolution efforts for infrastructure-related outages or performance issues.

• Containerization & Environments:Support containerization strategies, versioning control, and replication of dev/test environments.

• Technical Alignment:Work closely with developers to ensure infrastructure aligns with ongoing development and product needs.

• Documentation & Standards:Establish and maintain documentation for infrastructure, policies, security procedures, and disaster recovery protocols.

• Scalability & Cost Optimization:Conduct performance benchmarking and infrastructure cost reviews to support future growth.

• Tool Evaluation:Recommend and implement emerging DevOps tools and practices to enhance system reliability and developer productivity.

• Code Contribution:Contribute to full-stack development as needed, supporting backend services and selected frontend components.

• Team Collaboration:Provide technical mentorship, review implementations, and ensure scalable, consistent architecture across the contractor and internal teams.

Requirements

Recommended Experience & Qualifications

• 7+ yearsof hands-on experience across DevOps, cloud infrastructure, backend development, and full-stack systems delivery.

• 2+ yearsin a senior or lead technical role responsible for architectural oversight or managing infrastructure at scale.

• Proven track record in:

  • Designing and managing CI/CD pipelines.

  • Managing AWS or similar cloud environments.

  • Implementing monitoring and alerting systems.

  • Delivering Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

  • Leading architectural decisions and technical planning.

  • Working with development teams across the stack.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), DevOps tooling, and modern CI/CD practices.

• Can speak English and Spanish fluently

• Strong understanding of security best practices, networking, system hardening, and secrets management.

• Practical knowledge of containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools.

• Experience with legacy system modernization and scalable architecture design.

• Ability to balance high-level strategy with hands-on implementation.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

• Collaborative mindset, able to work cross-functionally with internal and external development teams.
