Applies double-entry accrual accounting principles to ensure accuracy and compliance in financial operations. Manages journal entry imports, verifies daily postings, and ensures timely closure of accounting periods across Air Force, MAJCOM, and base Non-appropriated Fund Instrumentalities (NAFIs).Leads a team of junior accounting technicians handling prepaid and fixed asset functions, maintaining over 2,500 subsidiaries and reconciling more than $500 million in assets. Trains new employees on AFSFMS and guides junior technicians in accounting procedures. Reports on junior accounting technicians' performance and training needs to the section chief.Manages high-volume general ledger adjustments, payable transactions, lodging assessments, payroll cash transfers, and other financial processes, ensuring compliance and accuracy. Responds to installation inquiries and audits, coordinates corrective actions, analyzes account discrepancies, and maintains updated financial metrics.
