Responsible for direct supervision, Training, safety performance, product quality, cost control, employee communications, employee morale, and productivity.As a Production Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with innovative and diverse people within 3M. • Promoting a safe and sustainable working environment through modeling safe behaviors as well as recognizing and resolving safety concerns.
• Establishing priorities and allocating work assignments in meeting daily production requirements.
• Utilize Lean manufacturing processes to meet customer demand and quality expectations.
• Leading, coaching, and developing employees through direct supervisor floor presents, monitoring and coaching of shop floor operators, providing recognition, managing operator training requirements, policy administration and participating in hourly hiring process. May include contingent workers.
• Inspiring integrity by upholding and complying with 3M policies and guidelines.
• Monitoring and meeting shift production rates and quality expectations. Communicate results to employees and leverage continuous improvement tools in increasing efficiencies in production scheduling, product quality, and overall production costs.
• Represent plant leadership when required. Including but not limited too supervision coverage on alternative shifts and being on-call when needed and all other duties as assigned.
• This position requires working evening and night shift hours including (weekends/holidays/rotating)- Further details to be provided.

Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• High School Diploma or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
• Three (3) years of Manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
• One (1) year of previous leadership, supervisor and/or management experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
• Five (5) years of manufacturing and leadership experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
• Familiarity with Lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Layered Audits and Standard Work
• Experience leading daily tier management process, leading improvement projects (Kaizens), leading lean six sigma projects and/or lean six sigma certification.
• Time management skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize daily.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Teams and Workday Human Resource management software.
