Commercial/Business Banking Underwriter - Remote

About the position The Commercial/Business Banking Underwriter position at Zions Bancorporation involves evaluating and analyzing commercial loan applications, preparing credit packages, and making recommendations based on thorough credit analysis. The role is essential in ensuring compliance with banking regulations and policies while supporting the Relationship Manager in structuring loans. This position is remote and requires a Bachelor's degree along with relevant experience in underwriting and credit analysis. Responsibilities • Compile data for credit packages including financial statements, cash flow, and collateral value. , • Interpret analysis outcomes and prepare summaries and recommendations for loan approvals. , • Evaluate and analyze commercial and business banking loan applications. , • Identify credit strengths and weaknesses and document credit worthiness analysis. , • Ensure compliance with bank policies and regulations in processing credit requests. , • Identify risks and mitigating factors in credit analysis. , • Respond to inquiries from internal and external customers. , • Recommend exceptions based on findings and analysis. , • Collaborate with Relationship Manager on complex loan structuring. , • May have authority to approve loans beyond organizational guidelines. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field. , • 1+ year of experience in commercial or small business underwriting and credit analysis. , • Basic knowledge of commercial and small business lending policies and procedures. , • Ability to analyze financial statements, business plans, and credit reports. , • Good judgment and decision-making skills. , • Strong customer relations and communication skills. , • Self-starter with strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Nice-to-haves • Knowledge of Small Business Administration (SBA) Guarantee Loan Program. , • Experience with various related software applications, including spreadsheets and word processing.
