Position Summary

The Entry‑Level Data Entry & Freight Handling Associate role is a hybrid position that blends remote data‑entry responsibilities with on‑site freight handling duties. This unique combination offers you the flexibility to work from home while also gaining hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced dock environment. You will be responsible for accurately processing freight documentation, operating material‑handling equipment, and ensuring that shipments are securely loaded and unloaded in compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Remote Data Entry & Documentation

  • Enter freight details into arenaflex’s electronic tracking system, ensuring accuracy of type, weight, dimensions, and hazardous material classifications.
  • Cross‑check documentation against physical freight to verify consistency and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Generate and distribute required reports, such as load manifests, delivery confirmations, and incident logs.
  • Maintain organized digital records that support audit trails and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist customers and internal teams via phone or email with freight documentation inquiries.

On‑Site Dock Operations (When Required)

  • Operate motorized equipment—including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks—to move freight safely and efficiently.
  • Secure cargo inside trailers using pallets, straps, ropes, and other fastening tools to prevent movement during transit.
  • Inspect freight for damage, perform minor repairs, and document any issues for further action.
  • Assist with hostling duties, such as moving trailers within the yard, when directed by supervisors.
  • Collaborate with dock supervisors, yard personnel, and customers to meet tight loading and unloading schedules.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to lift and carry hand freight of varying weights, handle dock plates up to 100 lb, and open trailer doors requiring approximately 75 lb of force repeatedly throughout a shift.
  • Mathematical Skills: Competence in basic arithmetic, with or without a calculator, to verify freight weights and dimensions.
  • Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
  • Work Ethic: Ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operation.
  • Familiarity with hostling or yard mule duties, including trailer maneuvering.
  • Experience using electronic freight management systems or similar software platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of safety regulations related to hazardous materials and dock operations.
  • Demonstrated reliability in meeting deadlines and maintaining high levels of accuracy.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Attention to Detail: Precise data entry and meticulous verification of freight information.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to bend, twist, squat, push, and pull freight throughout the workday.
  • Problem‑Solving: Quickly identify and resolve documentation mismatches or loading issues.
  • Safety Mindset: Consistently follow arenaflex safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Provide courteous assistance to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to shift between remote and on‑site duties based on operational needs.
