[Remote] Accounting Analyst

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. SMX Services & Consulting, Inc. is looking for an Accounting Analyst to manage month-end close activities for the U.S. General Ledger and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP. The role involves preparing financial reports, conducting variance analysis, and maintaining accurate financial data for management review.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for month-end close activities for the U.S. General Ledger, including preparing and posting journal entries, account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP
• Accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports for Management
• Defines financial situation by assembling financial data for analysis
• Present analysis to Management
• Review financial performance with variance analysis
• Responsible for the reconciliation of the GL and Balance Sheet accounts on monthly basis
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations
• Shared services: Ability to replicate in more than one company
• Responsible for preparing analytical reports by contract
• Accurate and timely reporting to assess job performance

Skills

• Bachelor's Degree Finance, Accounting, Taxation, Economics, and/or Business
• Associate's Degree Finance, Accounting or related fields
• 1-3 years of experience in U.S. accounting and general ledger accounting
• 1-3 years Experienced with ERP software as Oracle or SAP
• 1-3 years Microsoft Office, especially excel proficiency
• The ideal candidate demonstrates analytical rigor, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within established compliance frameworks
• Proficient organizational skills to ensure that the organization has accurate and timely accounting and financial reporting
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure that all transactions are properly recorded and classified
• Supports financial transactions by entering account information; collecting and analyzing information for financial evaluations, due diligence, acquisition financing and integration
• Responsible for drive monthly financial close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Proficient mathematical and analytical skills are needed to understand financial reports
• Bilingual - English and Spanish
• Experienced with Oracle Financial Systems or SAP preferred
• Experience in a corporate accounting department or accounting firm is highly desirable
