Responsibilities
- Choose article topics selected from a pool
- Research and write original travel articles
- Pitch article topics to our Editorial team
- Be a dedicated and consistent contributor to the site
- Follow TheTravel's general Editorial Guidelines while producing unique and high-quality content
- Produce articles in a timely manner to ensure that the latest industry news and most interesting content are always available to TheTravel's loyal readers
- Work under tight deadlines and submit tasks on time
- Work with Lead Editor to implement feedback efficiently
Skills
- Cruise industry professional, travel agent, or frequent cruiser with 5+ yrs hands-on experience + writing experience
- Knows cabin classes, major lines, ports, and onboard logistics firsthand
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field
- 5 years of experience in producing travel and related content
- In-depth familiarity with and fierce passion for the travel industry, especially the latest travel content
- Experience with SEO practices
- Experience with a custom CMS, preferred
