St. Catherine, Seattle St. Catherine of Siena School is seeking substitute preschool teacher's assistants for our licensed program for the 2023-2024 school year. Located in the beautiful Maple Leaf community of north Seattle, our school offers a competitive wage and a welcoming, inclusive environment. Applicants need to have a minimum two years? experience working with preschool age children, preferably in a school environment. Thirty hours of STARS credits and CPR training are required for the position and preferred upon hire, otherwise will need to be completed within 30 days of hiring. Other licensing requirements will need to be fulfilled within 30 days of hiring. Schedule: Hours vary based on availability and need. Typical substituting hours are 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM. Position Summary: The substitute teacher assistant provides student support, encourages student's progress, and assists in managing the learning environment. Duties include (but aren?t limited to): Assisting and working collaboratively with other preschool staff Preparing materials, projects, assignments Leading small groups Working with students who have a diverse set of needs and learning styles Helping to maintain a clean and orderly classroom environment Assisting the teacher with the children and daily routines Supervising students in various locations Close out the school day and prepare the classroom for the morning Promoting healthy peer interactions between children of all abilities Maintaining confidentiality at all times The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following characteristics: comfortable working in a faith-based, Catholic environment ability to foster social and academic growth among children genuine care and concern for students enthusiasm for learning ability to collaborate with their partner teacher, other staff members, and parents dependable work ethic shows initiative and is self-driven Hourly wage is dependent on experience. OTHER: Salary: $24-$26/hour. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant?s skills, and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
