Job Summary

As a Customer Service Representative – Union Benefits Specialist, you'll play a vital role in educating union members about the benefits available to them through their affiliation. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional customer service, answer questions, and resolve issues related to benefits. You'll also have the opportunity to upsell additional benefits to customers who desire them, but only if they express interest. This is a remote work opportunity, and we're open to flexible hours to accommodate your needs.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide exceptional customer service to union members via phone, email, and chat

  • Educate members about benefits available to them through their union affiliation
  • Answer questions and resolve issues related to benefits
  • Upsell additional benefits to customers who express interest
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and benefits provided
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex issues and improve customer satisfaction
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field preferred

  • 1-2 years of customer service experience in a call center or similar environment
  • Proven leadership abilities and self-motivation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • MUST RESIDE IN CALIFORNIA

Preferred Qualifications

* Bilingual in any language (although not required)

  • Experience working with labor unions, credit unions, or associations
  • Knowledge of benefits and insurance products
  • Certification in customer service or a related field

Skills and Competencies

* Strong customer service skills, with a focus on empathy and problem-solving

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new systems and processes
