Job Summary
As a Personal Lines Customer Service Representative, you'll be the primary contact for our clients, responsible for providing effective customer service for personal lines customers. You'll use your excellent in-depth knowledge of our insurance products to ensure that our clients receive the best possible support. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Responding to customer requests in a professional and courteous manner, on a timely basis
- Initiating endorsements and other policy changes for customers
- Processing and transmitting necessary information to clients and brokers via fax, email, or mail
- Assisting applicants and brokers with completion of the application and required forms
- Assisting the underwriting team to obtain information from clients and brokers
- Escalating customer service issues to management as needed
- Assisting with special projects
- Providing assistance to clients to answer questions and resolve issues, including billing questions and policy changes
- Actively looking to round out accounts by referring other value-added services
- Reviewing and rewriting current accounts to carriers that will better fit the client's needs
- Maintaining client information and files, including communication and activities in the agency management system
- Keeping abreast of changes in carrier plans and policies
- Continuing education as needed
- Building relationships with clients, carriers, and agents
Competencies
To perform this job successfully, you'll need to possess the following competencies:
- High School Diploma or recognized equivalent
- Property & Casualty Producer's License preferred (not required)
- Basic PC skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Moderate stress due to regular deadlines and daily challenges
- High finger dexterity while typing documents and forms
- Occasionally lifting up to 20lbs
