Job Summary

As a Remote Healthcare Billing and Customer Service Representative, you will work closely with patients and their families to explain complex medical bills, answer questions, and resolve account balances. You will be the primary point of contact for our clients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that patients receive the support they need to navigate the healthcare system. This is a rewarding and challenging role that requires a strong skillset, a caring attitude, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

* Using empathy and excellent communication skills to help patients and their families understand complex medical bills and resolve account balances

  • Providing outstanding customer service and collaborating with patients over the phone to create affordable payment plans and take payments
  • Accurately documenting all calls and follow-ups in our software systems, using computer proficiency, organization, and attention to detail
  • Supporting fellow team members with consistent attendance, excellent work ethic, and a caring team focus
  • Continuously improving skills and knowledge, with supportive coaching and feedback from managers and team leads, and ongoing training

Essential Qualifications:

* 1-2 years of experience in healthcare billing, customer service, or a related field

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with patients and families from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong computer proficiency, with experience using software systems and technology to document calls and follow-ups
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on customer service and account resolution
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience working in a healthcare setting, with knowledge of medical billing and insurance processes

  • Certification in medical billing or customer service, such as CPC or CCM
  • Experience working in a remote or virtual environment, with a strong focus on self-motivation and productivity
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues
