Experienced Data Entry Specialist – Healthcare Specimen Processing and Laboratory Support

Responsibilities

As a Data Entry Specialist – Specimen Accessioner, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Receiving, sorting, and logging all specimens for laboratory testing with accuracy and attention to detail
• Collaborating with all departments within the laboratory to ensure testing accuracy and efficiency
• Meeting time-sensitive deadlines with precision and attention to detail
• Maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and specimen processing
• Adhering to laboratory protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Participating in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge

Additional Skills & Qualifications

While not essential, the following skills and qualifications are highly desirable:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
• Previous experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting, preferably in data entry or specimen processing
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic data capture (EDC) systems
• Knowledge of laboratory protocols and procedures, including quality control and quality assurance
• Certification in a related field, such as medical laboratory technology (MLT) or clinical laboratory science (CLS)

Work Environment

This position is based in a laboratory environment, where you will work as part of a contract-to-hire arrangement. The role involves working with laboratory equipment and maintaining a focus on precision and timely processing of samples. As a Specimen Accessioner, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our laboratory operations, working closely with laboratory staff and other departments to achieve our goals.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
