Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to students, parents, and borrowers, responding to incoming calls, emails, and chats, and making outbound calls regarding Federal Student Aid Loan Servicing. Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing exceptional customer service to students, parents, and borrowers via multiple channels, including phone, email, web chat, and written correspondence
  • Responding to basic and routine inquiries and problems, using computerized systems for tracking, information gathering, and troubleshooting
  • Providing feedback and input on call trends, processes, procedures, and training
  • May respond to customer inquiries by referring them to published materials, secondary sources, or more senior staff
  • Responding to incoming calls, emails, or chats and making outbound calls regarding Federal Student Aid Loan Servicing
  • Utilizing available systems, knowledgebase, and standard technology to respond to inquiries and perform job duties
  • Processing requests received via general correspondence and notating accounts regarding actions taken in response to those requests
  • Maintaining regular use of the feedback tool to give and receive constructive feedback on call quality and department tasks
  • Assisting with Credit Bureau Requests utilizing established processes and procedures
  • Referencing escalated calls or inquiries to appropriate levels as needed
  • Basic math and PC skills, including MS Office applications, are required
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to organize simultaneous tasks

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • High School diploma or equivalent with 6 months of customer service experience
  • Must be able to speak and read English clearly, professionally, and fluently
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic math and PC skills, including MS Office applications
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems, processes, and procedures
  • Availability to work scheduled holidays, overtime, and weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications

* Previous experience in a customer service or call center environment

  • Knowledge of Federal Student Aid Loan Servicing and related programs
  • Experience with computerized systems and software applications
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide support to colleagues
  • Willingness to learn and grow with the company
