Data Coordinator

University of Maryland Medical System is a nationally recognized academic medical center that seeks a Data Coordinator to enhance patient care and advance nursing science. The role involves developing and maintaining database applications, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting clinical management with reports and supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support for special projects and assignments. Researches, analyzes, and summarizes information and source materials for reports. Prepares data on projects and studies, such as updating procedure manuals or analyzing department activities
  • Supports clinic management with ordering clinical and clerical supplies
  • Enters complex patient data into the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Date base for blood and marrow transplant and cellular therapy patients with 98% accuracy
  • Adheres to UMMC standards of service excellence
  • Assists clinical management with a variety of clinical and financial reports to support clinical operations

Skills

  • AA Degree required
  • One (1) year's ambulatory or private practice experience required
  • Effective oral and written communication skills are required to work successfully with a diverse group of people at various position levels inside and outside of the organization
  • High level of organizational skills and the ability to complete tasks under strict timelines is required
  • Two to three (2-3) years of office experience preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and/or Electronic Medical Records is preferred
  • Experience in a healthcare setting with revenue cycle activities preferred
