The ideal candidate for this role will possess a strong understanding of SEN teaching methodologies and a genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of children with additional needs. You should be patient, adaptable, and possess excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with teachers, parents, and other professionals. Salary for this part-time position ranges from £90 to £100 per day, providing you with a competitive and flexible remuneration package that recognises your valuable contributions. Key Responsibilities: Provide targeted one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs, including those with physical, emotional, and learning disabilities Assist in the delivery of engaging and differentiated lessons, ensuring that all students can access the curriculum and achieve their full potential Implement effective behaviour management strategies to create a positive and nurturing learning environment Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for students Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents/carers Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress, attendance, and any relevant medical or behavioural information Contribute to the overall development and improvement of the school's SEN provision Person Specification: Relevant experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar SEN support role Strong understanding of SEN teaching methodologies and best practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the holistic development of students with special educational needs Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the diverse and changing needs of the students Proficient in the use of technology and digital tools to enhance learning experiences Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn and grow in the role Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team Valid Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to undergo the necessary checks Classroom Support is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
