Experienced Temporary Customer Service Representative – Remote Opportunity in Laboratory Billing Services

Job Summary

We are seeking a Temporary Customer Service Representative to join our Laboratory Billing Services team for a 4-6 month assignment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, data entry, and medical record reconciliation. This is a full-time, temporary position working a first shift (days) from Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:00am-6:30pm EST.

Responsibilities

As a Temporary Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for:

• Primarily data entry of Laboratory Requisitions, insurance verification, and medical record reconciliation
• Providing quality service and customer satisfaction through effective communication and education
• Researching and resolving lab orders
• High volume of data entry within the computerized EPIC EMR system
• Accurately and completely obtaining required information in the verification process, ensuring the correct patient and procedure requested, and diagnosis codes
• Order entry process, communications, guest relations, medical record maintenance/analysis, and various clerical duties within the scope of the role

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent
• One year of healthcare experience
• Experience with medical insurance in a hospital or physician's office setting, specifically Laboratory registration and insurance verification preferred
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Data entry skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high volumes of data entry
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a laboratory or medical billing setting

• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding
• Experience with EPIC EMR system
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
