Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Full Stack Product Design Engineer to join our Home Item Configuration group. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and testing new products that meet the highest standards of quality, functionality, and aesthetics. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including Modern Plan, tasks, and other design groups, to bring your ideas to life.

Key Responsibilities

* Conceptualize and develop innovative solutions to complex design challenges

  • Create, model, assess, and investigate new product designs
  • Lead design reviews and contribute to peer design feedback
  • Present your work to cross-functional teams and leaders
  • Produce detailed specifications and drawings
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to enhance product design for manufacturability, usability, and aesthetics
  • Conduct failure analysis and design of experiments (DOEs) to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Approve and describe product designs through various iterations
  • Develop deep technical expertise by taking design from concept to production
  • Ensure that products meet corrective and functional requirements to deliver top-tier equipment to our customers

Essential Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • Strong foundation in design principles and high personal motivation
  • Design insight: exact mechanical intuition, creative problem-solving, curious nature, attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills: written, verbal, and visual. Ability to clearly convey design ideas and contribute to conceptualization
  • Experience creating parts and assemblies in 3D CAD software
  • Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), failure analysis methods, utility dimensioning, and mathematical tolerancing
  • Working knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
  • Adaptability and comfort working in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Ability to travel globally (up to 20%)

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • Experience in product development, design engineering, or related field
  • Strong understanding of design for manufacturability, design for assembly, and failure analysis
  • Experience with 3D printing, CNC machining, or other rapid prototyping techniques
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and version control systems
  • Strong leadership and project management skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor)
  • Experience with design for manufacturability, design for assembly, and failure analysis
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and design concepts
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
