Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Technical Customer Support Representative to join our team. As a Technical Customer Support Representative, you'll be the first point of contact for our customers, providing expert technical support via email, chat, and telephone. You'll be responsible for resolving customer questions and problems with computer software and hardware, guiding users through diagnostic and troubleshooting processes, and collaborating with other team members to research and resolve problems. Schedule

Our Technical Customer Support Representative will work a flexible schedule from Tuesday to Saturday, preferably from 10am to 6pm CT. This schedule allows for a great work-life balance and the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities

As a Technical Customer Support Representative, you'll be responsible for:

  • Identifying, investigating, and resolving customer questions or problems with computer software and hardware
  • Providing email, chat, and telephone support to end-users experiencing technical difficulties
  • Applying knowledge of computer software, hardware, and procedures to solve problems
  • Guiding users through diagnostic and troubleshooting processes, which may include use of diagnostic tools and software and/or following verbal instructions
  • Identifying and escalating support situations requiring urgent attention
  • Tracking and routing support requests via computerized ticketing system; thoroughly documenting resolutions
  • Staying current with product upgrades, system information, and business updates
  • Collaborating with other team members to research and resolve problems
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications

To be successful as a Technical Customer Support Representative, you'll need:

  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn an array of computer hardware and software
  • Thorough understanding of computer software and hardware, including desktop computers, network devices, and peripherals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Professional and pleasant telephone manner
  • Ability to explain technical issues to technical and nontechnical customers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Willingness to have telephone conversations monitored for quality assurance

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, we prefer candidates with:

  • Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in customer technical support

Physical Demands

As a Technical Customer Support Representative, you'll be working in a remote environment, so you'll need to be able to:

  • Sit for the duration of the workday
  • Use a keyboard, headset, and computer monitor for the workday
