Job Summary

The Experienced Customer Service Associate position is a critical role in our Claims Contact Center, where you will:

  • Respond to inbound telephone inquiries from customers, providing timely and accurate information about their claims.
  • Initiate auto and homeowner claims by gathering preliminary loss information from agents, insureds, and third parties.
  • Explain the claims process to customers, ensuring they understand the next steps and what to expect.
  • Authorize services such as roadside assistance and rental cars, as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions, ensuring seamless communication and resolution.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices through ongoing training and professional development.

Essential Job Functions

* Respond to inbound telephone inquiries in a Claims Contact Center, providing exceptional customer service and support.

  • Gather and document preliminary loss information from agents, insureds, and third parties to initiate auto and homeowner claims.
  • Explain the claims process to customers, ensuring they understand the next steps and what to expect.
  • Authorize services such as roadside assistance and rental cars, as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions, ensuring seamless communication and resolution.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices through ongoing training and professional development.

Experience Requirements

* Customer service experience, preferably in an insurance or claims-related environment.

  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues.
  • Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to read, write, and comprehend complex information.
  • Assumes personal responsibility for actions, with a strong focus on accountability and results.
  • Possesses flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

* Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to master multiple windows simultaneously and navigate complex software systems.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Education Requirements

* High school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Environment

This role operates in a remote-based environment, with the ability to work from home. You will need to:

  • Sit or stand for extended periods, up to a full work shift.
  • Occasionally reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Occasionally move, lift, carry, and place objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance.
  • Listen to, interpret, and differentiate auditory information (e.g., others speaking) at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
  • Visually verify and read information, and visually locate material, resources, and other objects.
  • Ability to operate a computer for extended periods, up to a full work shift.
