Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. CareSource is a healthcare company offering a 12-week paid internship program for college students. The Claims Encounters Analyst intern will support various projects and initiatives, gaining real-world experience while working on impactful assignments related to claims operations and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)
  • Database querying, data analysis and trending skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of claims operations specifically related encounters
  • Advanced knowledge of coding and billing processes, including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 and HCPCS coding
  • Knowledge of Claims IT processes/systems
  • Knowledge of claims analytic processes/systems
  • Advanced working knowledge of managed care and health claims processing and reimbursement methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal required
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Time management skills; capable of multi-tasking and prioritizing work

Skills

  • Current Rising Junior or Senior in an accredited degree program or graduated within the last 6 months is required

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Effective listening and critical thinking skills
  • Dependable, flexible and ability to maintain confidential information
  • Effective problem-solving skills with attention to detail
