Key Responsibilities:

As a Customer Service/Sales Representative, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing fast, friendly service to customers by actively seeking out their needs and providing assistance
  • Learning about products and services using our tools and providing information to customers to sell entire projects
  • Greeting, qualifying, recommending, and closing every customer in your department
  • Maintaining the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe
  • Providing a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards
  • Working in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department and other departments
  • Handling customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Meeting or exceeding sales targets and contributing to the success of your department
  • Participating in ongoing training and development to improve your skills and knowledge

Essential Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience, preferably in a retail or home improvement environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Strong product knowledge and ability to learn quickly about new products and services
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time

Preferred Qualifications:

While not required, the following qualifications would be a plus:

  • Previous experience in a sales or customer service role, preferably in a retail or home improvement environment
  • Knowledge of building materials, décor, electrical, plumbing, and other related products and services
  • Experience with point-of-sale systems and cash handling
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with software applications
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
