Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service and Sales Representative at blithequark, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing fast, friendly service to customers by actively seeking out their needs and providing assistance
  • Learning about our products and services using our tools and providing information to customers to sell entire projects
  • Greeting, qualifying, recommending, and closing every customer in your department
  • Maintaining the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe
  • Providing a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards
  • Working in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department as well as other departments
  • Meeting sales targets and contributing to the growth of our sales team

Specific Store Departments

Our Customer Service and Sales Representatives work in a variety of store departments, including:

  • Building Materials
  • D‚cor
  • Electrical
  • Flooring
  • Garden
  • Hardware
  • Kitchen & Bath
  • Lumber
  • Millwork
  • Paint
  • Plumbing
  • Tool Rental

Position Types

Our Customer Service and Sales Representatives may work in one of the following position types:

  • Department Sales
  • Lead Generator
  • Pro Account Sales
  • Sales Specialist
  • Special Services
  • Customer Order Specialist

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of sales or customer service experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet sales targets
  • Strong product knowledge and ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications would be an asset:

  • Previous experience in a retail or sales environment
  • Knowledge of building materials, tools, or other related products
  • Experience working with customers in a customer-facing role
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn our sales and customer service software
