Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and self-driven Healthcare Customer Service Representative who possesses the capacity to think outside the box and is excited about the opportunity for professional growth and advancement. As a Healthcare Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for addressing questions/concerns and fielding correspondence requests primarily received via phone in a call center environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to successfully multitask and alternate between multiple programs.

Key Responsibilities

As a Healthcare Customer Service Representative, your key responsibilities will include:

• Receiving and bringing to resolution up to 60 calls daily in a fun, fast-paced, metric-driven environment.
• Interacting directly via phone with patients, affiliate partners, payers, and healthcare providers.
• Collecting payments and/or providing guidance on payment options for outstanding balances.
• Updating accounts with new or corrected information; requesting itemized statements &/or re-billing claims when appropriate.
• Explaining medical bills and identifying deductibles, coinsurance, copays, and other patient financial responsibilities.
• Utilizing analytical thinking for account research and reconciliation.
• Managing all interactions in a positive, caring manner.
• Performing specialized tasks as assigned by the manager and/or supervisor.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years' healthcare experience, preferably 2 years of medical billing and direct patient contact in a call center environment with exposure to insurance billing and medical terminology.
• Technical proficiency.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Professional maturity and ability to exercise sound judgment.
• Written/verbal fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

• Experience working in a call center environment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, metric-driven environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
