Job Summary

As a Tutor for Social Sciences, you will provide one-on-one tutoring to students enrolled in the Student Support Services Program in courses related to social sciences, including Social Work and Psychology. Your primary responsibility will be to support students in achieving academic success by providing guidance, feedback, and encouragement. You will work closely with students to identify areas of improvement, develop personalized learning plans, and help them overcome challenges.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide one-on-one tutoring to students enrolled in the Student Support Services Program in courses related to social sciences

• Develop and implement effective tutoring strategies to support student learning and achievement
• Create and maintain a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement and motivation
• Communicate regularly with students, faculty, and staff to ensure seamless support and coordination
• Collaborate with other tutors and support staff to share best practices and resources
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
• Maintain accurate records and reports of student progress and tutoring activities

Essential Qualifications

* Minimum GPA of 3.0

• Passed the class/es for which you tutor with a B+ or better
• Patient and skilled communicator with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in using technology, including online learning platforms and communication tools

Preferred Qualifications

* Background in social sciences, including social work and psychology

• Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and abilities
• Familiarity with online learning platforms and tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
