Job Summary
As a Part-Time Nursing Instructor at Concorde Career Colleges, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education to our students, promoting academic excellence, and contributing to the growth and success of our institution. This is a remote opportunity, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home while still making a significant impact on the lives of our students.
Key Responsibilities
* Instruct classes as assigned, including teaching in classrooms, labs, clinical, and online settings
- Prepare for classes by organizing and becoming familiar with student material, preparing lesson plans and course material as required
- Objectively assess students for academic performance and provide regular and constructive feedback
- Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning, set the example for professionalism and conduct, and ensure compliance with published attendance policy
- Facilitate tutoring and makeup work as needed, ensuring and monitoring student participation
- Refer students to the Program Director and/or Academic Dean if additional advising is necessary
- Document all relevant student contact in CampusNexus, including calling students (1st hour 1st call)
- Enforce CSC and campus policies (dress code, cell phone usage, etc.)
- Participate in and document ongoing faculty and professional development activities, including any Continuing Education Units (CEUs) that may be required for certification or licensure
- Attend outside workshops and seminars to improve instructional and professional skills
- Assist with preparations for graduation ceremonies, attend graduation ceremonies as requested, and participate in student and campus activities as requested
Essential Qualifications
* Current VN license and privilege to practice nursing in the state of Texas (BON) to teach foundational theory and clinical courses
- Current RN license and privilege to practice nursing in the state of Texas (BON)
- ADN from an accredited nursing school (BON), BSN is preferred to teach remaining theory and clinical courses in program
- A minimum of three years of related practical work experience in the occupational field associated with the training provided (ACCSC)
- At least two years in the last four years of nursing practice experience in the anticipated subject areas of teaching responsibility
- Must meet all regulatory and corporate qualifications
- Must meet approval of regulatory board to hold position

* Advanced preparation in nursing, nursing education, and nursing administration
- Prior relevant nursing employment
- Experience in teaching and mentoring students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Proficiency in learning management systems and other educational technologies
