Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Head Varsity Robotics Coach to lead our robotics program and drive success in STEM education. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for program development, coaching student participants, and assisting in the evaluation of assistant coaches. You will also be responsible for directing coach's pre-season meetings with parents, students, and coaches, as well as in-season staff meetings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in STEM-related fields and/or robotics, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a commitment to equity and inclusivity.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a comprehensive robotics program that aligns with the district's STEM education goals
- Coach and assist student participants in mastering skills and concepts related to robotics and STEM education
- Assist in the evaluation of assistant coaches and submit recommendations in writing
- Direct coach's pre-season meetings with parents, students, and coaches, as well as in-season staff meetings
- Determine the system to be used in the robotics program on a system-wide basis
- Maintain accurate inventory of equipment and ensure that all equipment is issued and collected properly
- Collaborate with other staff members to support the goals and objectives of the Activities Department
- Model and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that values diversity and equity
Essential Qualifications
* Head coaching experience in robotics or a related field
- Sound knowledge and background in STEM-related fields and/or robotics
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to relate to students in a positive manner and be a good role model
- Commitment to equity and inclusivity
- Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members to support the goals and objectives of the Activities Department
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working with students in a STEM education setting
- Knowledge of robotics software and hardware
- Experience with program development and implementation
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
