Experienced 988 Chat/Text Specialist – Crisis Intervention and Support

Job Summary
As a 988 Chat/Text Specialist, you will work in a remote setting, providing crisis intervention and support to individuals in need through our National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL) chat and text platform. You will conduct brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, and provide service linkage for individuals who are experiencing emotional distress. This is a 24/7/365 position, and you will be required to work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources to meet individual needs.
- Answer crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources to meet individual needs.
- Conduct follow-up calls for individuals who are deemed moderate to high risk for suicide.
- Meet the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation.
- Actively participate in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings.
- Assist in administrative tasks as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods.
- Demonstrates high-level customer service skills and professional etiquette.
- Demonstrate knowledge and competency in providing service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and other community resources.
- Knowledge of suicide assessments.
- Skill in providing crisis intervention.

Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or related field required; or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist.
- Six months to one year of related crisis experience is preferred.
Certifications and Licenses
* Certified Crisis Intervention Specialist (CCIS) or equivalent required.
- Other certifications and licenses may be required based on state or local regulations.
