Job Overview We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Remote Event Director to join our team, responsible for coordinating live event productions, including ESPN's most complex and high-profile games. As a Remote Event Director, you will be responsible for executing the technical production of live broadcasts, following storylines, and working closely with producers to capture the game. You will also work with producers and coordinating producers to provide support and guidance on content creation and inclusion. Key Responsibilities

• Design, coordinate, and execute live productions of live remote and REMI games, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of allowed events
• Manage technical teams for live event productions, providing guidance, feedback, and improvement opportunities
• Collaborate with Remote Operations to determine technical facility and staff needs for broadcasts
• Work with producers and coordinating producers to determine creative vision and technical direction for shows, driving innovation and new workflows that leverage technology
• Conduct production and technical meetings to define team responsibilities and outline expectations for live remote events
• Coordinate with the Scheduling office to best assign technical production teams for live events, providing real-time feedback to the Remote Operations team and Manning department as needed
• Prepare for each game by conducting research on teams, players, storylines, trends, and other relevant information
• Provide guidance to live directors prior to broadcasts and mentor them as needed during broadcasts
• Make on-the-spot editorial adjustments to coverage plans as unexpected circumstances and opportunities arise
• Analyze, in real-time, operational issues that arise during assigned games
• Has the knowledge and ability to direct studio-related productions, both in-house and on-remote
• Provide ongoing feedback to directors and associate directors, documenting written feedback to management

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

• A bachelor's degree in broadcasting, communications, journalism, or a closely related field
• Extensive live remote game directing experience, with a deep understanding of the technical production process
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide technical teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with producers, directors, and other stakeholders
• Ability to work well under pressure, with a strong attention to detail and ability to make quick decisions
• Knowledge of sports history and current events, with a passion for live sports production

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

• At least 4 years of progressively complex live game directing experience
• Understanding of the financial implications of directing live remote and REMI games
• Passion for popular culture and ability to help define ESPN viewer tastes
• Understanding of market positioning and strategies for assigned games
