About the Role: Substitute Teacher

We're seeking an experienced and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our community of educators in South Bound Brook, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the flexibility to choose your assignments, work on your own schedule, and gain hands-on teaching experience. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in various educational settings, including elementary, middle, and high schools.
• Adapt to different teaching environments and curricula, ensuring a smooth learning experience for students.
• Develop and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.
• Communicate effectively with school staff, administrators, and parents to ensure seamless collaboration and address any concerns.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices.

Essential Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits.
• Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor.
• NJ Substitute Credential.
• Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this).
• Full COVID-19 vaccination.
• A passion for education and putting students first.
• An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Substitute Teacher or in a related educational role.
• Specialized training or certifications in areas like Special Education, English as a Second Language (ESL), or STEM education.
• Experience working with diverse student populations and developing culturally responsive teaching practices.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching practices and classroom management strategies.
