Tutor Position Details

As a tutor at Lindamood-Bell Learning Center, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality instruction and support to students of all ages. This part-time position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, with a focus on reading and comprehension skills development. Prior teaching experience is not required, but a passion for education and a commitment to excellence are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group instruction, implementing specific lesson plans under the direction of Learning Center leadership
• Facilitate the use of curriculum provided for Lindamood-Bell Academy students
• Interact positively and professionally with clients and staff to provide a safe and positive learning environment
• Manage client records electronically using a computer
• Implement positive-reinforcement strategies that maximize learning, in a cheerful and authentic manner
• Possess excellent reading, spelling, and comprehension skills, and basic computer skills

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred, Associate's degree, Early Childhood Education certificate, or actively pursuing a degree is acceptable
• Excellent reading, spelling, and comprehension skills
• Basic computer skills and ability to type notes about student performance
• Passion for helping others reach their potential
• Availability Monday - Friday

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior teaching or tutoring experience
• Experience working with students with learning challenges
• Familiarity with educational software and technology
