As a Warehouse Freight Handler, you will be responsible for efficiently handling and processing freight within our warehouse operations. Your role will involve loading and unloading freight from trucks and containers, organizing shipments for storage or distribution, and ensuring accuracy in all logistical processes to meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely Load and Unload Freight: Use powered equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload freight from trucks and containers, ensuring safe and efficient handling of shipments.
• Organize and Prepare Freight: Organize and prepare freight for storage or shipment according to company procedures and customer orders, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of shipments.
• Verify Accuracy of Freight: Verify accuracy of freight contents, labels, and documentation to ensure precise outbound shipments and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Maintain Equipment and Warehouse: Replace equipment batteries or LP tanks as needed and maintain power supply for continuous operation. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse facility and equipment, conducting regular inspections to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
• Identify and Report Discrepancies: Identify and report discrepancies such as damaged or missing freight promptly, ensuring that issues are addressed quickly and efficiently.
• Assist with Inventory Management: Assist with inventory management tasks and participate in physical counts as required, ensuring accurate inventory levels and minimizing stock discrepancies.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

• Prior Experience: Prior experience in a warehouse or freight handling role is preferred, with a strong understanding of logistics and supply chain operations.
• Forklift Operations: Ability to operate forklifts and other powered equipment safely and efficiently, with a valid forklift operator certification.
• Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and adherence to operational standards, ensuring precise outbound shipments and maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Communication and Teamwork: Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and management to achieve operational goals.
