Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our applicants receive the support they need to successfully navigate our application programs. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to Inbound Inquiries: Respond to phone, email, and chat inquiries from applicants in a timely and effective manner, providing clear and concise solutions to their questions and concerns.
  • Providing Technical Assistance: Offer technical assistance to applicants, enabling them to complete their applications successfully and efficiently.
  • Navigating Computerized Systems: Utilize our computerized system to respond to and troubleshoot applicant questions, ensuring that issues are resolved promptly and efficiently.
  • Excellent Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask as needed.
  • Interpersonal Skills and Empathy: Possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize with applicants from diverse backgrounds and provide personalized support.
  • Knowledge of Application Programs: Become and remain knowledgeable about all FORWARD application programs, providing excellent applicant support and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Identifying Inefficiencies and Suggesting Solutions: Identify inefficiencies in workflows and suggest solutions to improve processes and enhance the overall applicant experience.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • Customer Service Experience: 2+ years of customer service experience, with effective communication skills both orally and in writing.
  • Technical Savvy: Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly, with a strong technical aptitude.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to work well with people from varied cultural, socioeconomic, educational, and experiential backgrounds.
  • Independence and Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to work independently and adapt quickly to new challenges.
  • High Volume of Activity: Ability to work with a high volume of activity (phone, email, and chat).
  • Organization and Attention to Detail: High level of organization and attention to detail, with excellent time management skills.
  • U.S. Work Authorization: Have U.S. work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications

We also welcome candidates with the following preferred qualifications:

  • Bilingual Abilities: Bilingual abilities in English/Chinese (Mandarin)/Spanish.
  • Schedule Preference: 6 am-3 pm schedule preferred.
