Job Summary
We're looking for a skilled and compassionate Remote Secondary Special Education Teacher to deliver personalized instruction and support to special education students. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for providing one-on-one support to students, grading assignments, and developing engaging lesson plans. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized and engaging instruction to special education students through various communication channels, including chat, email, text messages, and telephone calls.
- Evaluate student needs and prior written history to determine and implement appropriate accommodations, ensuring individualized education plans are properly documented and implemented.
- Provide ongoing monitoring of student progress, intervening as needed to address gaps and deliver remediation.
- Collaborate with peers and administrators in a professional, positive, and student-focused manner.
- Participate in company events, activities, and meetings with a positive attitude and a commitment to service.
- Maintain a courteous and positive demeanor in every interaction, responding to a wide range of inquiries from students, guardians, and colleagues.
- Provide essential proctoring services during periods of student testing, including traveling to testing locations and facilitating the test.
- Develop and maintain a strong and supportive company culture by supporting company recruitment, retention, and community outreach goals.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:
- Live in the state of Oklahoma.
- Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education.
- Possess a current Special Education Teaching License and teacher certification.
- Have at least three (3) years of experience teaching special education.
- Have extensive experience writing and implementing IEPs and holding IEP meetings.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and serve others with humility, kindness, empathy, and joy.
- Possess excellent communication, technical, critical thinking, customer orientation, teamwork, organization, and attention to detail skills.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly preferred:
- At least two (2) years of online teaching experience.
- At least one (1) year of experience learning or working online.
- Ability to obtain teaching certification in Arizona, Colorado, and Washington.
- Ability to pass required background checks.

Work Environment
As a remote employee, you'll work from the comfort of your own home, with the flexibility to create a schedule that suits your needs. We're a Monday-to-Friday organization, with working hours between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm Mountain Time. Occasional travel to support proctoring of student tests and other face-to-face events may be required.
