Job Summary

We are seeking subcontractor transcribers and proofreaders who are based in the United States and have a strong background in legal transcription. As a transcriber and proofreader with Access Transcripts, you will be responsible for preparing verbatim legal transcripts, proofreading transcripts for accuracy and completeness, and delivering high-quality work on time. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare verbatim legal transcripts, including court proceedings, depositions, and trials
• Proofread transcripts for accuracy, completeness, and formatting
• Review and edit transcripts to ensure accuracy and quality
• Meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work on time
• Communicate effectively with the Access Transcripts team and clients
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in legal transcription

Essential Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in preparing verbatim legal transcripts
• Strong knowledge of court proceedings, legal terminology, and transcription guidelines
• Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word or WordPerfect (Word preferred)
• Familiarity with various audio programs, including FTR, JAVS, CourtSmart, Liberty, VIQ, and ExpressScribe
• Strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with legal transcription software and technology
• Knowledge of transcription guidelines and standards, such as those set by the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA)
• Experience working with a variety of audio formats and quality levels
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
