Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative (Remote), you'll be responsible for:

  • Handling customer inquiries, resolving issues, and providing exceptional support via phone, email, and other communication channels
  • Taking applications over the phone, determining customer eligibility, and completing all administrative functions
  • Managing difficult or emotional customer situations with empathy and professionalism
  • Maintaining and updating customer files, data entry, and customer account maintenance on our computer systems
  • Documenting contact with all customers, processing program correspondence, and mailings as assigned
  • Adhering to program guidelines and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborating with Call Center Supervisors to achieve team goals and objectives
  • Participating in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Systems and Microsoft Office Applications
  • Experience in customer service, preferably in a call center or similar environment (1+ year)

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, we welcome candidates with:

  • Experience working with low-income households or vulnerable populations
  • Knowledge of energy assistance programs or similar social services
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills (English and Spanish or other languages)
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software or similar systems
