Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Electrician to join our 3rd shift team in Hoopeston, IL. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining various electrical equipment, including fillers, packaging machines, and auxiliary equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently. Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment, including fillers, packaging machines, and auxiliary equipment
- Perform preventative and running repairs and corrections on electrical systems
- Inspect motors, switches, junction boxes, switch panels, circuit breakers, transformers, fuse panels, lighting, heating, and power circuits
- Determine proper size and specifications of wire, conduit, switches, and panel's, fuses, etc.
- Maintain and update records of material and parts
- Confer with Plant Supervisor, General Plant Manager, and Warehouse Manager on needed repairs, changes, and new equipment
- Operate lathe, drill press, milling machine, etc. when necessary
- Maintain and repair warehouse equipment
- Record equipment maintenance and repairs
- Maintain records of inventories and cost sheets
- Recommend measures to improve equipment performance and quality of product
- Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of production lines
- Follow company policies on safety, quality, sanitation, and Good Manufacturing Practices
Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of experience as an electrician in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, including circuits, wiring, and electrical codes
- Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret production data
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
- Mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- Initiative and ingenuity in determining source of information and action required for results and solutions
- Confidentiality and integrity in treating information in a strictly confidential manner
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift Operator Certification
- Some knowledge of Spanish
- Experience with PLC, testing, and power circuits
- Experience with electrical gauges and recording instruments
