Key Responsibilities

  • Design and support network security infrastructure to ensure the operational integrity of critical systems and applications.
  • Provide IT support for firewall hardware and software maintenance, including site implementations, inventories, system planning, preventive maintenance, and break/fix services.
  • Collaborate with business divisions to implement firewall policies and access control guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate standards and regulations, recommending and implementing departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Manage projects related to data center and remote communication room capital upgrades, updates, and improvements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, negotiate with vendors to obtain the best products and services, and ensure that vendors meet their contractual obligations.
  • Provide on-call support for critical systems and infrastructure components.
  • Support the IT Data Security Division to maintain the integrity and service continuity of enterprise data and applications.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Information Assurance, or Networking.
  • A strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls, and security protocols.
  • Experience with cloud networking and security principles.
  • Proficiency in managing and maintaining server infrastructure on-premises and in the cloud.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues related to the managed security appliance and its integration with other systems.
  • Monitoring and security analysis skills to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills to engage with end-users, understand their needs, and provide adequate support.
  • Vendor relationship management skills to collaborate with cloud providers and ensure that service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • A commitment to continuous learning, staying up-to-date with industry trends and new technologies.
  • Flexibility to support an operation with changing shifts, extended hours, and availability for potential on-call requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A focus on safety and security, prioritizing the well-being of self, others, and personal data.
  • An embracing attitude towards diverse individuals, thinking, and styles.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Experience with cloud security platforms and technologies.
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations and industry standards, such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, or GDPR.
  • Familiarity with IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL.
  • Certifications in security-related fields, such as CompTIA Security+ or CISSP.
