Job Summary
As a Senior Big Data Engineer - Cloud and Data Science Expert, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying large-scale data processing systems using cutting-edge technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, and Spark. You will work closely with our data science team to develop and implement data-driven solutions that drive business growth and improve customer experiences. You will also be responsible for mentoring and leading junior engineers, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of data-driven solutions into our products and services.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and deploy large-scale data processing systems using Hadoop, Hive, and Spark
- Collaborate with data science team to develop and implement data-driven solutions that drive business growth and improve customer experiences
- Mentor and lead junior engineers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of data-driven solutions into our products and services
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and architecture diagrams to ensure that our data processing systems are well-documented and easily understood by our teams
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in big data and cloud computing, and apply this knowledge to improve our data processing systems and solutions
- Participate in code reviews and ensure that our code is of high quality and follows best practices
- Collaborate with our DevOps team to ensure that our data processing systems are scalable, reliable, and secure
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in big data engineering, with a strong focus on Hadoop, Hive, and Spark
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or Scala
- Experience with data warehousing and data modeling
- Strong understanding of data processing and data analytics concepts
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in cloud computing, with a strong focus on AWS or GCP
- Experience with microservices architecture and containerization
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as HBase, Couchbase, or MongoDB
- Strong understanding of data science concepts and techniques
