Key Responsibilities

As a Director, Recurring Remote, you will be responsible for:

• Line-directing the on-air productions of live, remote sporting events, ensuring that all technical and creative aspects of the telecast are executed flawlessly
• Collaborating with college and university sports production departments to provide continuity and lend expertise to the school broadcast administration and student workforce
• Working closely with producers and coordinating producers to determine the creative and technical direction of live remote sporting event telecasts
• Coordinating with the Event Operations department to determine technical facility and personnel needs for telecasts
• Executing the technical production of the telecast, including following storylines and adapting broadcast coverage plans as live events develop
• Overseeing the technical crew for live event productions, providing direction, feedback, and development for personnel

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A valid Driver's License
• In-depth knowledge of real-time live sporting event directing processes
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate with crew members during live telecasts
• Knowledge of technical equipment involved in directing live remote sporting events
• Minimum of 4 years of progressively complex related live sporting event directing experience
• Strong understanding of sports and sports history
• Appreciation of popular culture and ability to assist in defining the tastes of ESPN's viewers
• Understanding of market positioning and strategies of assigned sporting events
• Ability to travel to productions throughout the country
